Waterford Historical Society (CT)
Anyone who loves, appreciates, and may wish to own a bit of the beauty and serenity of southeastern Connecticut’s landmarks, coastal views and flora may very well find these qualities in one of the paintings on view and for sale at the “Present” artists exhibit in the Stacy Barn on Jordan Green on August 14 and 15 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. during Art in Waterford 2021 Past+Present+Future.
Those interested in purchasing a painting prior to the opening of this juried exhibition can do so by calling the Society at 860-389-7529. The artwork can then be picked up as soon as the exhibit closes at 4 p.m. on Sunday, August 15. (Note: Appropriate Connecticut state sales tax will be added to the painting's purchase price.)
The 2021 theme has been expanded to encompass southeastern Connecticut and its shoreline. The artists selected by jury painted sixteen scenes of the local land and sea, capturing views of places such as Harkness Memorial Park, the beaches, points, coves and inlets facing Long Island Sound, and colorful, quiet gardens. The artists’ chosen media include oil, acrylic and watercolor.
A percentage of the proceeds from sale of the paintings will go to benefit the Waterford Historical Society, Inc.’s programs and activities.
