Waterford Historical Society (CT)

The seventh ART IN WATERFORD exhibition celebrates our country’s 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence and the 225th anniversary of the Town of Waterford's founding. First Selectman of Waterford Rob Brule invited the Waterford Historical Society to support the Town’s celebrations by hanging outstanding artwork by local artists in the main hallways of Waterford Town Hall for five (5) months.

Artists for the juried show were asked to depict any contemporary or historical aspect or representation of people, places, things, or impressions of Southeastern Connecticut that depict love of this country. The paintings and photos selected are on display in the main hallway of Waterford Town Hall from April 20 to September 17.  Town Hall is open from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday through Friday.  Paintings and photos by local veterans have been on display since mid-January.

Artwork may be purchased, but must remain on display until September 17. There will be a handout listing the artists, their work, dimensions of the artwork, and pricing. To purchase artwork, one can email the Society at artinwaterford@gmail.com

Artists' Reception on April 30
An artists' reception was held on April 30 from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. in the Waterford Town Hall main auditorium to which the public was invited. Light refreshments were served.
Drawings for two paintings donated by local artists Pat Procko and Ellen Gregory were held at the artists' reception and are availble through late June at all Society events. Tickets are $5, or 5 tickets for $20.

Artwork by students from elementary, middle and high schools in the Town of Waterford will be displayed in the fall.
