Wednesday, June 24 | 2 p.m. - 4 p.m. | SPECIAL OPPORTUNITY! Visit to White Gate Farm and Tour of the Inn. Proprietor Pauline Lord will give a personalized tour of this fabulous organic farm located on Upper Pattagansett Road in East Lyme! See the young Cornish chicks (aka “meat chickens”), collect eggs from the laying flock, feed the lambs and, as time permits, walk or drive to the back field to watch activity at the bee hives. The farm house, built circa 1765, was last owned by Ruth Lord, daughter of Henry F duPont, who founded the famous Winterthur Museum and garden in northern Delaware. $10 per person. The farm store of organic produce, prepared foods and unique gifts will be open for purchases and refreshments. |

What did Thanksgiving mean for our mid-19th-century Waterford ancestors? Food, family, gratitude for what they had, remembering those who were gone, and charity baskets for those who had less. Hearth cooking, cidermaking. |
